GC&DC Awards 2025: Final call for entries

Closing date for entries to the Goldsmiths' Craft & Design Council Awards 2025 is fast approaching, with submissions accepted until January 14th.

There are just a few days remaining to submit an entry for the prestigious Goldsmiths’ Craft & Design Council (GC&DC) 2025 competition, which closes on 14 January 2025.

The annual competition rewards excellence in technical skills and creative design in precious metals and related materials. The competition is open to all in the jewellery, silversmithing and allied trades including craft persons and designers in the industry as well as apprentices, students and hobbyists and is completely free to enter.

The closing date for online entries is 14 January, 2025

Martina Grumitt’s Firework Sautoir which won three Gold Awards at the GC&DC Awards 2024.

For 2025, the Awards comprise 33 competition categories in both 2D design and 3D craft and design categories, five other special awards, three bursaries, three Major Awards and three Premier Awards, as well as the prestigious College Trophy, totaling 47 Awards. This years’ competition has been generously supported by 66 Sponsors & Patrons.

“As we approach 2025, the GC&DC remains deeply committed to celebrating innovation, exceptional design and technical making skills. This competition is a platform to showcase high-level craftsmanship and a space where creativity and precision come together to elevate jewellery, silversmithing and Allied Crafts,” says GC&DC chair John Ball.

“Whether you're an emerging talent or an established maker, the GC&DC competition is the opportunity to demonstrate mastery of your craft, explore new techniques, and push the boundaries of design and making. We look forward to seeing the remarkable work that 2025 is expected to deliver."

Sahara Aburaneh’s Aurora - Northern Lights cuff was awarded a Gold Award in the Conceptual Jewellery section of the 2024 GC&DC Awards.

Key dates for the 2025 competition are as follows:

  • January 14th: Online entry deadline for all entries

  • January 14th-16th: Entry submission days at Goldsmiths’ Centre, London

  • March 3rd: Awards Ceremony at Goldsmiths’ Hall, London

  • March 4th-7th: Exhibition of winning designs at Goldsmiths’ Hall, London
