Simplicity rules

When I wrote the news pages for The Watch Book by Esquire Middle East, I was asked what my favourite watch was for the contributors’ page. I picked Uniform Wares. Between my husband and I, we have three Uniform Wares watches in the house and we love the clean, simplistic designs. Watches are often judged by how many complications they have, or what extra details make them unique, but I’m a big fan of minimalist design. That principle is at the heart of Uniform Wares, and the London brand is proof that less truly can be more.

As I told Esquire: “In my job I’m fortunate to meet with designers of the world’s most intricate complications, but when it comes to personal style choices, I’m rarely seen without my Uniform Wares watch. The design is so simplistic it doesn’t even carry any branding on the dial, which conversely very often makes is a talking point.”
